Archway completed a general remodeling project in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago in the summer of 2013. The project included gut rehabs of two bathrooms and a kitchen, plus some additional work in the home. The homeowner was Mr. Gershenzon, a young man who was looking for a modern update to his home. We do not have photos of what the unit looked like before, but we can tell you it was in need of a facelift!

The scope of work for this project was as follows:

Guest Bathroom:

• Gut and Demo existing bathroom including walls where necessary
• Demo existing floor and wall tile
• Prepare subflooring and all walls of tub/shower area
• Install new plumbing supply to accommodate new shower and sink fixtures
• Install new tile floor and new tile for the perimeter walls of the tub/shower space
• Install new Toilet and Tub
• Install new vanity/sink/top/mirror combo
• Install new faucet for sink
• New shower head, valve and tub spout for tub/shower area
• New light fixtures adjacent to vanity mirror
• New shower rod, towel bar, and paper holder

Master Bathroom Remodeling Outline:

• Gut and Demo existing bathroom including walls-where necessary
• Demo existing floor and wall tile
• Prepare subflooring and all walls of tub/shower area
• Install green board in bathroom space… where we demoed drywall - then patch, tape, sand and prime all surfaces
• Install new plumbing supply to accommodate new shower and sink fixtures
• Install new switch and whip for both lighting sources
• Install new tile floor
• Install new custom rubber shower base
• Install new tile for the perimeter walls of the shower space only
• Install new glass hinged shower door
• Install new toilet
• Install new vanity/sink/top/mirror combo
• Install new faucet for sink

Kitchen Remodeling:

• Demo existing kitchen, remove cabinet, countertop, and appliances
• Frame out wall extension adjacent to guest bedroom to accommodate 42” high cabinets

Electrical and Plumbing:

• Install new plumbing supply to accommodate new dishwasher and sink fixture
• Install two new pendant light fixtures in ceiling
• Install new drywall in kitchen space
• Install Archway’s premium kitchen cabinet line
• Install new granite countertop
• Install new under mount stainless steel sink and new faucet
• Install new under cabinet lighting
• Install new appliances in locations specified on plan
• Install handles/knobs for kitchen cabinets
• Paint all walls in kitchen.

Miscellaneous Remodeling Items:

• Remove existing doors in specified areas on plan
• Remove existing carpeting in both bedrooms
• Frame out new closet areas in guest bedroom including enclosing mechanical closet
• Frame out bump out wall in dining room area
• Install new track lighting in entry hallway
• Install new lighting in front closet
• Install new switch and whip for lighting source
• Install new slop sink, washer and dryer in new laundry room. Connect washer to slop sink and current kitchen sink plumbing supply
• Install new drywall in affected areas
• Install new carpeting in both bedrooms
• Install new barn doors and hardware in appropriate locations
• Install other doors according to plan
• Install new shelves according to plan
• Install new pendant in dining room
• Paint all walls
