Transitional Kitchen Design – Before and After Photos

August 7, 2015 posted In Kitchens

We just finished up a kitchen remodeling job in Norridge, IL for a great client. When we first saw this kitchen, we agreed with the homeowner that it needed a total makeover. Take a look at the before photos:

Much like the kitchen that we featured earlier on the blog, this original kitchen design looks very old, outdated, and dirty. The faux wood kitchen cabinets look very tired,  and the wall tile looked like it had no rhyme or reason to it with the random pops of color on the white tile. The floor tile was very drab and coming up in some places (as you can see in the last photo).

The homeowner wanted a fresh, nice looking kitchen that she would be able to actually use and enjoy, which is exactly what we gave her. Meagan, one of our kitchen design specialists, did a great job of working with the homeowner and her specific needs to create a brand new transitional kitchen that will look not only look great for years to come, but it will also be very functional.

The home and the kitchen itself are very small, so it was a little bit tricky to work everything into the space, but Meagan was able to design it in a way that accomplished everything the customer wanted.

Here’s what the kitchen looks like after a complete (“gut”) remodel.

Quite the transformation! This new kitchen has some great elements that make it transitional in style, like the stainless steel appliances, the neutrally-styled cabinets, and the light granite countertop. The kitchen tile backsplash and “wood-look” porcelain flooring pull the entire space together.

In the end, the customer was very pleased with her newly designed and constructed kitchen and we were proud that the job went smoothly and was finished within the homeowners’ budget.
